17 intrepid souls went off to the wilds of Shropshire to the Mascall Centre in Ludlow.
Ludlow has all the amenities you could want for a week away; restaurants, pubs, shops, a castle and is a lovely old town to just wander around with excellent road and rail links to nearby attractions.
The Mascall Centre itself received high praise. We all slept in single beds with no ladders to negotiate in the dead of night and all rooms were ensuite. The only negative was that most bedrooms were on the sunny side of the building and were very warm, too warm, for sleeping during the hottest heatwave known to man.
Walks started rather early in the morning and finished by lunchtime to avoid the heat as we all enjoyed the Shropshire countryside.
Many visits were made to local attractions including Croft Castle, Stokesay Castle, Acton Scott Farm among others and, of course, Ludlow Castle.
I think all members enjoyed their time away, I certainly did.
